West Indies vs India on August 6

India haven’t had it difficult in their ongoing three-match T20I series against the Windies. The visitors stuttered a wee bit in their run-chase during the first encounter at Lauderhill, Florida, but apart from that they have been absolutely unstoppable. The power-packed Caribbean batting hasn’t been able to get hold of the Indian bowlers by any means. Virat Kohli and Co are leading the series 2-0. After India’s win in the last game by 22 runs (DLS Method), the third match at the Providence Stadium is a dead rubber. Carlos Brathwaite’s men have lost five consecutive T20Is versus Team India. The One Day team didn’t have a great time in the World Cup and now the T20 team has been faltering, not something great for Windies cricket. They will be looking to salvage some pride in Guyana.

Best economical pickKrunal Pandya is becoming a vital cog for India in the T20I setup, and he is starting to become an indispensable player for Virat Kohli. He struggled with the bat initially before smashing Keemo Paul for two consecutive sixes in the final over of the innings. He got the set pair of Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell out off consecutive deliveries, on course to snatch the game from India's hands.

Top captains & vice captains – Rohit Sharma started his innings with a boundary, and that set the tone for what was a pretty well-constructed innings. He hit 3 maximums, making him the player with the highest number of sixes in T20Is. He top-scored with 67 runs, and showed class, continuing his sublime form. Kieron Pollard looked the only batsman in touch in the first T20 when batsmen from both sides found it tough to score runs. Pollard would have fancied his chances in the second T20I as well before rain intervened. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder will look to end the series on a high and grab a consolation win for his side.

Smart pick – The Wizard of the Windies cricket, Sunil Narine made a fantastic comeback to the International arena with a very strong performance in the first T20I. He picked up two wickets and made batting very difficult with his trickery.

Cautions Pick – Rahul Chahar had an excellent IPL last time around, finishing with 13 wickets at an economy of 6.55. He was instrumental in Mumbai Indians winning the IPL for a record fourth time. In nine out of the 13 matches that he played, he gave away fewer than 30 runs in his four-over spells. The time is ripe for him to make his T20I debut for India, in the third match against West Indies. He could be drafted into the team in place of Ravindra Jadeja.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), Kieron Pollard (Vice-Captain), Sunil Narine, Krunal Pandya, Virat Kohli, Sheldon Cottrell, Washington Sundar, Nicholas Pooran, Navdeep Saini, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell
